This drawing is inspired from a solo run on a moonless night during the Yukon early winter, before snow covers the ground. The cone of light coming out of the headlamp lights up trees bordering a long stretch of road. The thick forest extends all the way to a distant mountain range, barely visible against the darkness of the sky. In the end, the frail source of light only contributes to highlight the deep obscurity of the landscape surrounding the runner.
The original design was realized using China ink, dip pen and technical pens on Bristol paper (2019).
